The 2025/2026 tree seedling order forms for the DNR Division of Forestry’s Nursery Program are now available! Start planning next year’s conservation tree plantings by reviewing the species available at the State Tree Nurseries. Orders can be submitted via mail, phone, or online beginning Wednesday, October 1st! The Steuben County SWCD still has funding available within the Pigeon Creek & Fish Creek Watersheds for the installation of best management practices – which includes tree plantings. BMPs are practices used to prevent/reduce soil erosion and nutrient runoff that impact water quality in area water bodies, and ultimately, the nearshore waters of Lake Michigan and Lake Erie.
