Planting native plants in your garden or landscape has many benefits because they provide many ecosystem services that exotic plants cannot. Native plants: offer food and habitat for wildlife; enhance the beauty of yards and neighborhoods; often require less watering and care once established; and they also help keep our rivers and lakes clean.
The Steuben County SWCD is offering native plant kits for pickup on a day to be determined during the week of June 2, 2025, at the Steuben County SWCD office.

Each kit contains 50 plant plugs and when planted 18″ on-center, they will cover approximately 100 square feet. All kits cost $150.00; the Keystone Pollinator Kit costs $200.00. Orders and payment must be received by March 24, 2025.
