The Steuben County Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) will be in a temporary office
until the federal government shutdown has ended.
The temporary office will be in the Pleasant Township Trustee Office, located at 2510 N 200 W
in Angola.
The office is normally located in the United States Department of Agriculture
(USDA) Angola Service Center at 1220 N 200 W, which had to close once the shutdown began. Soil and Water Conservation Districts are not federal entities. The Steuben County SWCD is a local government entity. The only reason we had to move our office is because the USDA Service Center had to be vacated when the shutdown began.
The office will be open:
Monday, Wednesday – Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Tuesday – from 12:15 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. (The SWCD will be conducting educational programming on Tuesday evening’s during the month of October.)
Due to the nature of the work performed by the District, there may be times when staff are out of
the office. Please email the SWCD at steubenswcd@gmail.com or call the district cell phone
(260/499-0248) before making a special trip to ensure someone will be available.
Once the shutdown has ended, the office will return to the USDA building. We are still open and doing business.
