Background
Throughout Steuben County, failing Residential Onsite Sewage Systems are often identified as potential sources of pollution that contribute to both public health and environmental concerns. One of the primary barriers to effective system maintenance and performance is the significant financial burden placed on homeowners. The Steuben County SWCD developed the District Cost-Share Program to enable homeowners to address onsite sewage system issues that may impact local water quality and reduce the potential for wastewater pollution.
