NACD Stewardship Week
Stewardship Week is an annual event organized by the National Association of Conservation Districts (NACD) to raise awareness about the importance of conserving natural resources, including soil, water, and habitats. It has been observed since 1955, traditionally spanning from the last Sunday in April until the first Sunday in May.

NACD Poster Contest
The Stewardship Week Poster Contest is put on annually by the NACD. It allows students from kindergarten through 12th grade to display their artwork nationally, reflecting the annual NACD Stewardship theme. The contest starts locally, advances to state levels, and then to the national level, with the national winner recognized at NACD’s annual meeting.
Steuben County – Stewardship Week Poster Contest

Each year, the Steuben County SWCD invites schools throughout Steuben County to take part in Stewardship Week. Participating classrooms receive educational materials, and students are encouraged to create a poster based on that year’s conservation theme.
Over the years, students have shared creative and thoughtful ideas through their Stewardship Week posters. Each year’s unique theme encourages young artists to think about caring for our land, water, and natural resources. We invite you to explore past themes and view the winning posters to see how Steuben County students have helped tell the conservation story through their artwork.
