Planting native plants in your garden or landscape has many benefits because they provide many ecosystem services that exotic plants cannot. Native plants: offer food and habitat for wildlife; enhance the beauty of yards and neighborhoods; often require less watering and care once established; and they also help keep our rivers and lakes clean.

New this year, the Steuben County SWCD is offering native plant kits for sale until March 20, 2023. Kits available are: Prairie Grass, Prairie Wildflowers, Rain Garden, and Shade plants. Each kit contains 50 plant plugs and costs $150.00. Orders and payment must be received by March 20, 2023, and kit pickup will be on June 8 and 9, 2023, at the Steuben County SWCD office.
