SepticSmart Week 2022: September 19-23, 2022
SepticSmart Week is an annual event that occurs the third week of September. This year SepticSmart Week is celebrating its 10th Anniversary! In celebration, the Steuben County SWCD, Steuben County Health Department, and the City of Angola/Trine University MS4 department are hosting the Rural Homeowner Septic 101 Workshop on Thursday, September 22, from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. The workshop is being held in the multi-purpose room of the Steuben County Community Center, located at 317 S. Wayne Street in Angola and light refreshments will be available.
Presenters will be discussing the basics of septic systems, dos and don’ts of septic maintenance, and understanding how failing septic systems contribute to stormwater pollution. In addition, the Steuben County SWCD will be conducting a drawing for a cost-share incentive contract worth up to $500.00 towards a septic system inspection and pumping. To claim the incentive the winner must pay for the service up-front and then turn receipts in to the Steuben County SWCD for reimbursement up to the $500.00 limit.
