Pollinators

Students will learn about the roles and importance of pollinators in the natural world and for our food supply.

This lesson includes THREE interactive activities:

Pollination Activity:

This interactive activity demonstrates how pollen is transferred from one flower to another with the help of pollinators using cotton balls and chalk.

Pollinator Free (Ice-cream Sundae, Pizza, Taco) Activity:

This interactive activity helps students understand how pollinators are essential to global food production.

Native Seed Planting Activity:

This activity allows students to plant their own native plant seed to take home.

Optional Demonstrations/Activities

Monarch Butterfly Migration Cycle Demonstration:

This demonstration explains the Monarch butterfly migration cycle using Easter eggs to represent each part of their incredible journey across North America.

Monarch Migration Game- Race to Mexico:

This game helps students understand the challenges Monarch butterflies face during their long migration to Mexico by playing a dice-rolling game where players try to make it to Mexico- if they can survive!
