Worms

Students will learn about soil and how worms are beneficial for the soil. They will have the opportunity to observe live earthworms and do some simple worm “experiments”.

This lesson includes ONE interactive activity:

Worm Experiments:

This interactive activity allows students to hold and observe worms in a petri dish using magnifying glasses and conduct worm experiments that focus on comparing how worms respond to light, moisture and sound.

Optional Activity: (Jars are not included)

 Worm Farm in a Jar:

Creating a worm farm in a jar is a simple science experiment that allows students to study how worms turn over our soil. By using a glass jar, some soil, sand, pebbles, and worms, the students can create a small ecosystem and observe how organic materials are broken down.
