Clean Sweep Pesticide Disposal Program

May 23, 2023

The Office of the Indiana State Chemist (OISC) has announced dates and locations for the 2023 Clean Sweep Pesticide Disposal Program. The Clean Sweep Pesticide Disposal Program is designed to collect and dispose of suspended, banned, canceled, unusable, opened, unopened, or just unwanted pesticides (herbicides, insecticides, rodenticides, fungicides, miticides, etc.) and in sponsored by the OISC. This disposal service is free of charge up to 250 pounds per participant; anything over 250 pounds will be a charge of $2.50 per pound. This program is intended for public and private schools, golf courses, nurseries, farmers, ag dealers, public, cities, towns, municipalities, county units of government, or others. This is a great opportunity for you to legally dispose of unwanted products at little or no cost.

All dates are in August (see 2023 OISC Clean Sweep Pesticide Disposal Information Form), and there is a Clean Sweep Pesticide Disposal Participant Form included with the Information Form that must be completed and submitted by Wednesday, August 9, in order to participate in this year’s Clean Sweep. Submission instructions are on the Information Form as well. Questions may be directed to Nathan Davis at (765) 494-7108. Please bring your chemicals in leak-free and safe-to-transport containers to the site you have selected on the specified date.

*NOTE: OISC reserved the right to cancel this Pesticide Clean Sweep Project if there is not adequate demand. Participants submitting the enclosed planning form by August 9, 2023, will be contacted immediately if cancellation is necessary.
